Yes, you can usually find TONS of obscure expressions and rank #1 on Google for them.

Of course, it usually has no economic value, but thats another issue.

you out ranked NINE other sites.. don't go jumping the gun here thinking you have pulled off anything in regards to seo.

I feel like I am being a jerk, but I got the impression you are assuming you are going to get the results required to even make a 'follow my success' thread viable in the first place.

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of sites compete for the first page for competitve terms - and there is only room for 10. Pull that off, and you have something to be excited about and a story to share

that's a very obscure phrase, with no competition and no search volume. Plus, it requires one to search for quotes (and to be preceded with the word "an")- which hardly never happens in the real world. The quotes just give you a feel for the competition - you want to rank w/o them.

I don't want to be a downer, but you asked if this was something to rejoice about from an seo perspective. The answer is no.

Well. Maybe you are right. I have no experience with SEO, just deisgn and video marketing. So it is fair to say I do not have a clue what I am on about. But it does not matter. If I can get to #1 with "s, then it may just give me the encouragement to go for #1 without them

I agree, with the above commenters, it doesn't mean that much unless it has some useful value for you.

I'm number one for "how to shave your balls" (without quotes).... Although I get quite a number of searches for this per month it doesn't really hold much value.

I have other articles and sites that only get 10% or even 1% of the monthly searches and the income I get from those, doesn't even come close to the "how to shave your balls" article.

Find keywords that hold much value with many searches, this is where the money is, than its worth cheering for

Why did you associate yourself with the quote about scammers - it was not related to you. There are a LOT of companies scamming people about SEO - nothing to do with you.. You're not selling seo services are you? if so, it was a co-incidence.

@ all - the first time you see your site #1 on google, your first EVER experience of SEO is always sweet. It doesnt matter if you are the ONLY result for an obscure keywork chain. It's the high you get from being #1 anyway that promotes you to go out and keep trying!

I'm in position 3 for the phrase 'make money while you sleep'.
However, it only brings in a tiny bit of business.

So, it doesn't matter what phrase you get to the top for.
You only want to get to the top for phrases that will make you cash.

Like one of the other guys said:
'Make Money Online' would be very impressive.

ranking no.1 in Google for your term isn't hard. If you can #1 for terms like weight loss programs, stock market investment, internet marketing and so on, then all of people will perhaps following you.

It would be great if you can get enough traffic to generate more clicks. You can rank #1 for a keyword but if it doesn't convert because of minimal traffic then it won't be that much of a money maker.
