serp checker tool/software?

Hi there,

I normally use Rank Tracker from Link-assistant but I have to pay a monthly fee
of 6 a 7 dollar.

Is there any serp checker tool that works good and can check up to 1000 google results but don't have to pay a monthly fee.

I just want to buy it once, but don't want to pay to much for it.

    What's the point in tracking sites up to1000 pos? Any decent site with optimized content will pop up on the top 150 easily. Homever I'm using this Rank Checker Ace to support my paid rank trackers. It's free and personally one of the most accurate ones.

      Well, you prob target easier keywords. Any keyword worth pursuing has tough competition.

        That comment made no sense. He made no reference to the level of competition of a keyword. He simply said that tracking out to the top 1000 is useless.

        Hell, I would say tracking the top 100 is almost useless.

          That's not true at all. It has taken me a year to get to top 100 for some really tough keywords. That is why I say depends what keywords you target. Try ranking in top 100 for "computer" right away. See if your "well optimized" new website makes it to top 150 for "internet marketing". I play in the big league.

            I never said anything about tough keyword or easy keywords.

            I'm just saying it really makes no difference if I am ranking #583 or #245. Either way, nobody knows I exist at those spots. Why bother?

            Who searches page 10 for the keyword "computer" or page 15 for "internet marketing"? Most ppl don't even click past page 1...

              Guys, the idea is not to stay number 100, the idea is to go further up. But that happens gradually, not overnight. In the meantime you need to see if what you are doing is useful or not. So If I go from 150 to 100 in 1 year for a really tough keyword I am happy. In 2 years I will be on page 1. Point is, if I am not tracking a keyword when I am number 1,000, I won't know what is going on.

              Again, these deep rankings are relevant only for tough keywords. I agree with you, for easier keywords it is not necessary. But even then, sometimes you have not worked on a site for a long time, or something has happened and the rankings drop and you need to check and see what is going on. Or there is a long tail keyword that with a little effort can go from #100 to top 10. Especially when you building a new site, there are many keywords that have deep rankings and you need to pursue them one at a time.
