Is it worth added the `Rich Snippets` pluggin to my site ?

Hi guys,

I got a WSO though the other day selling a pluggin that shows `Rich snippets` stars next to my search results, I though it looked quite good as the sales page actually said its getting harder to get clicks when even position `1` in the SERPs is half way down the page like in some results

Anyway today i noticed that theres loads of free Rich snippets plugins `FREE` inside wp which look the same as the one i was marketed to with,

I like them why arnt more people using them if there free or is there a problem with them ??

    All this plugin does is add the stars? It doesn't do any other markups? The stars, to me, are only useful if you are writing reviews. There is other rich snippet data that can be useful though depending on what kind of site you run.

      Potentially, yes. But do they fit anything other than a review?

      People are going to start abusing them which will force Google to crack down on it.

      I haven't really seen any proof of its effectiveness other than from someone selling a WSO or with some other agenda.

      I can certainly see how it makes a listing stand out.
