NEW Algorithm Update Today!

...and tomorrow, and the day thereafter, and the day after that, etc.

I know, useless thread for some, but there are so many of these threads it's crazy. Google releases updates on a daily basis, some bigger than others, yes, but this happens ALL THE TIME!

I always find it funny how people run around like chickens with their heads cut off when they got "hit by another update".

Do things right and you won't have to worry about these updates.

Sure, we've all been hit (who hasn't?) at one point or another, but sticking to the basic principles of SEO can save you a lot of time, effort and money.

1. Don't keyword stuff your pages (over-optimizing)

2. Don't get crappy, irrelevant backlinks. If you're using software, learn to use it properly (or prepare to get "hit", hard)

3. Think about the reader when creating content, not just SEO (that goes for web2.0 sites, article directories, etc. as well)

4. Stop scrambling around and making huge changes with every update, unless you REALLY HAVE to and focus on getting QUALITY content and QUALITY backlinks.

5. Remember the 4 steps above and you'll be just fine, well, most of you anyway.

I admire your thinking, just all of us here think the same way. As you said, google is constantly updating serps, thats why you see movement all the time. Only major updates are getting published on their blog

Gotcha! You hit my thought, SEO Haven!

If everyone of us would be following every single update on Google, we wouldn't live anymore! just carve in mind that by having studied SEO basic principles and using SEO softwares the proper way, it's VERY VERY hard getting crashed down by google. thanks for your reminder!

    Hello SEO Haven,

Your profile images says "Guaranteed Page 1 Google Ranking"
Can someone really offer this kind of guarantee ?

Generally depends on the keyword and / or the amount of time & money you're willing to invest.

Sure they can, it's a spin on the 3-card Monte, give them 5 keywords & one of them will hit page#1 in the SERPs.

Most likely it will be the weakest competition keyword out of the 5 keywords & position #10 in the SERPs.

That's the fine print, read between the lines, whatever you want to call it.

I just visited his website (Guaranteed Page 1 Rankings) and it says nothing about giving 5 keywords and only one of them will hit page 1.

I think you should check the facts before spreading false information. I'm not saying his service is great and works like charm (I have never tried it), but it's not fair to comment on someone's service without even taking closer look at it.

I'd have to agree. I have not been affected by really any updates over the past year. Reason: no black hat tactics.

          Don't get yourself worked up.

I didn't say anything about OP in my comment above, matter of fact I bolded the text I was responding to:

Lets try it a 2nd time.

Since you brought up OPs services, lets take a look. My first impression, not impressive. The image on OPs site suggest that his keyword "make easy money online" has 800 million competing sites (fail), 800 million isn't competition.

          Keyword: make easy money online
          Domain: makemoneyblogging.com

The site isn't ranked, matter of fact the site is DOA.

How's this for a sample of the quality links (spamfest):

          hxxp://www.williecrawford.com/blog/archives/000397.html
Maybe OP built that specific link, IDK/care.

I don't have a problem with OP, I don't even know OP, you want facts, enjoy.

BTW, that screenshot below is probably a personalized SERPs considering the 3rd position SERP title has already been clicked, before the screenshot was taken.

You want facts? Check the screenshot again and see that it's makemoneybloggingV.com, NOT makemoneyblogging.com

As for spamfest links, once again, that's makemoneyblogging.com, NOT makemoneybloggingV.com used in the example.

And as for clicking on the link, I've clicked on clients' sites links through Google more than once in the past, nothing funny about that.

I have, however just done a search for the keywords used in the example, and the site's not on page 1 anymore, but then again, it IS an EMD domain, so it probably got hit after that crafty update.

Before knocking other SEO services, check your "facts". Just sayin'

Please direct me to this "fine print". We have a "Pay-Per-Keyword" Service, that means we'll target your chosen keyword to hit page 1, not 1 out of 5. If you choose to order 5, we'll rank all 5. Simple as that.

We don't do the "3 card" thing. We actually know what we're doing, mind you.
