Can the number of backlinks a site has be seen accurately on Alexa?

Bit of a beginner here, still learning the game. I have SEOQuake toolbar on my Firefox but having a bit of trouble understanding it. The Int/Ext link numbers don't jive with Alexa and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Thanks in advance.

Alexa should be showing most backlinks however no matter which tool you use, you may not be seeing everything. Even Google Webmaster tools doesn’t show all links leading to a site. Your best bet it to try and use a combination of sources to develop a comprehensive view of your website’s backlink profile.

Alexa is very inaccurate. Either use Ahrefs (dotcom) or SEO Spyglass for best results.

You should also use other tools and compare the result..

Backlinkwatch.com is good for backlinks checking related things.

Keep in mind that quite a few sites block the link checking sites as they consider it a waste of bandwidth.

Don't spend too much time sweating over backlink checkers - keep doing the work that creates the backlinks (articles, web 2.0, videos, forum posting, etc, etc, etc) as it's a much more productive use of your time.

In my experience the backlinks are not accurately reflected in Alexa.

  I'd have to second that. Webmaster tools works well for me, as well as seomoz. You can view "most recent links" on webmaster tools to get an idea. I find that WMT is the most accurate..considering it's coming from google.
