Hi all, I am really pulling my hair out at the minute trying to get do follow backlinks. I know this sort of stuff is asked all the time and I not after a list of sites that are dofollow, however trying to find sites in my niche with dofollow enabled is almost impossible. At the moment the site I am trying to rank is just under 1 month old all i do is tweet, post on facebook and add to social bookmark site every time I add a new blog post.

Are no-dofollow links really that worthless?. I so is there an easier way to find Dofollow blogs, forums ect..

Thanks in advance.

    Why are nofollow links worthless?

Doesn't google still count it as a link?

Forgot dofollow/nofollow malarkey! You'll end up tearing your hair out!

Just focus on getting those relevant high quality backlinks regardless to whether they are nofollow or not!

You need a balance of links for your profile that include do and no follow.

There are many tools out there that help you achieve do follow links (I use UAW), there are many lists here in the forum where you can manually find do follow link sites/directories etc (just do a search).

Be cautious of anyone that says you can rank #1 in days, its a journey not a race... diversify your linking strategies and remain natural, rankings and traffic will come

Cheers so far guys, at Mkcoy, it was just what I had been reading around the WF that made me think nofollow were pretty pointless. I fully understand that this is a long road and I am not seeking any fast results, just want to make sure I am doing everythng right and not wasting my time on nothing.
    Thanks once again.

Have you tried guest posting on blogs? Nofollow are good to have, they still help in SERPs!

Dofollow links are definitely worth a lot more than Nofollow ones. What a "Nofollow" link does, is tell the crawlers (like Googlebot) NOT to follow the link.

You can look around the forum for "footprints", then head over to Google. Oh yes, and Firefox has a nice extension that tells you whether a page is dofollow/nofollow, so that's a rather easy way to get relevant dofollow pages to post to (or ask for guest posting opportunities as the other guy suggested).

      Eh, not really.

Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. The bots will still follow the link and crawl what is linked to.

This is incorrect. Despite the tag being "nofollow" it does not mean Google bots will not still crawl that link and it still gives you credit of a backlink.

Nofollow links are still needed for every campaign to look natural to the engines.

However they are not as powerful but I do recommend using them to balance your backlink profile out.

No-Follow links are not totally worthless, Google do cont them as links. It is important to take some no-follow links along with Do-follow links. If you take a No-follow link on Pr-2,3 page, it would be more benficial..
