How to do link building to an Online Directory?

Hello folks!!!

Recently, i got a new project which is related to online business directories. Can anyone suggest me some link building strategies to promote the directory.

The domain is almost Exact Match Domain for the keywords like online business listing, online business directory and so on. So here the domain name matched with the keyword. So it will be easy to push that website into the top search results.

But i am in dilemma to decide the strategies. So can anyone help me through this? It will be much beneficial to me.

    Lucky for you there are tons of tools (link assistant and SEO elite to name 2) out there that was designed to sniff out directories and use it.

    Other than that, forums are always a great place to start, so are social networks. However, the paid (PPC) options will be more effective in getting the word out there.

    Maybe order a few paid advertisements from other big directories, which will send a lot of targeted visitors looking to promote their sites your way.

      These are the good points. As it is the initial stage, we are searching for the free promotion tips. Like you said forum promotion and social networks.

    SEO link building is not overnight process. Do not use any robotic software tools to building your links. Submit backlinks with some news of your company in different niche related blog again and again in different post and with different anchor text. I know the better panda and penguin safe link building.
