Hi,

Please let me know what is importance of submitting articles with backlinks to Article Directories like goarticle, ezine etc?

There are few SEO experts who think that "Article directory backlinks are about as close to worthless as you can get"

What are good ways to get backlinks to improve website rank?

    Diversify your link structure.

    Get your articles up and then hit them with backlinks. This is called pyramid linking. It's a pretty good way to get your articles indexed and have them rank higher in the SERPs.

    Article directories were devalued by google but not destroyed.

    Get some articles and other types of links pointing at your site and you'll do just fine

      I have created articles in many article directories but I need some guidance:

      1) to do pyramid linking on articles, can I create backlinks of forum profiles & web 2.0 profiles?

      2) If yes then how many forum backlinks I can create per day on my article? 50 forum backlinks & 50 web 2.0 backlinks? Total 100?

      Please guide

    The new rules are:

    1) User experience matters (Build good sites).
    2) Links can now hurt you (Build good links).

    You can still spam, you just have to be a lot more intelligent about it. I have sites set aside for "risky" tactics and sites set aside for conservative tactics. Both make me money, just hedge your bets i guess is my advice.

    Yes agreed on the fact that backlinks from article directories are low on seo value (they hardly have authority pages with thousands of submissions made each day). But they can get you some targeted traffic. Other than that don't bother thinking about SERP jumps.

    Article Submission was an important part of SEO you can say until now. But for some months now, Google isn't giving preference to AS, as people are spamming links in their articles.
    Also some of the sites are getting de-indexed and only some good sites like goarticle, etc. have a strong hold

    I believe article directory backlinks still work in the same as any other link building activity (especially in tiered link building structure)
