Adsense and Amazon Together?

Hi There,

I'm relatively new to the business, although I've made many forays in the past into the world of internet marketing. I never found my groove and I didn't maintain discipline. Now I've been focusing more carefully and building steadily but I have a question.

I have a site that deals with specific information related to pets. It has tons of information and on the "information" pages I am using Adsense for monitization. I've also been working on pages that are reviews and tests of actual products related to the sites content. Those pages are monitized with Amazon.

Ideally I'd like to convert the information pages from an all adsense format to a hybrid with 2 adsense blocks and one amazon block. While I know this isn't against the TOS for either program I recall reading sometime back that this is bad for ranking pages in search. Is that still the case?

Thanks!
#adsense #amazon

I don't think anyone can say for sure, but I would advise against overcrowding your pages with ads and affiliate links. You can always test the AdSense/Amazon combo on few top-traffic pages. In my experience, review pages work best with Amazon links, and general info pages with AdSense.

Well it looks like AdSense decided this for me anyway since they disabled my account today due to "invalid clicks". Considering I've only had two clicks in 250 visits and 99% of the source was US traffic it seems hard for me to believe. But in any case they seem to be pretty bent on discouraging webmasters from using their products.

I think you should be fine, since you wouldn't be going against tos. You can implement adsense and amazon links easily using the quick adsense plugin. It's free.

Merging ad sense and affiliate product on one site/page is no big deal.

The conversion rate will differ, however, a consistent testing is what can really give you a prove of what works well.

I've done it before and here's my conclusion

From A Monetization Point Of View

By putting Adsense on your Amazon affiliate websites you're potentially taking away sales from yourself and giving them to somebody else.

A visitor who may have bought the product through you instead saw a review for it or an ad for it on your website and then went to the other site.

Okay so that click brought you .05 cents cool....

It could have brought you $6 in affiliate commission instead.

From An SEO Point Of View

No it will not effect your SEO

From A Visitors Point Of View

    Ugh too many ads

    Conclusion

    Don't mix Adsense with Amazon
