Hello,
i have a little question, it seems most of my posts which are 3 years old or even more, all have almost same type of 2-3 lines of text at post starting and then images roundups etc.
which recently stopped getting any traffic from google. Probably becuase of lack in text etc.
So if i now edit those old pages, will they be reindexed in google with this new content/data?
thanks in advance.
cheers

Have those pages been deindexed? Maybe they just stopped ranking due to panda refresh.

Hello, yes the pages are not deindexed , they stoped ranking better after panda/penguin.
So i was thinking of improving the page content. will it be reconsidered by google if i do that?

Search for the "site:yourwebsite address" without the quotes in the google.
If you are getting those old pages then it means that your old pages are not deindexed but dropped in the search terms. You can add text to them and build some links!

K they seems to be still in index.
you mentioned make some backlinks. i am curious that only editing the page content will get google to update and reconsider the page or is it necessary to make backlinks as well?

If you want to send a reconsideration request after some updates then you can do that.
But if you lost the rankings, as you were overtaken by your competitor then you must build the backlinks.

By the way, first you should submit the reconsideration request, and see what will happen!!

Google actually needs content to understand any webpage and once they understand the webpage content then it try to show them for relevant search terms.

Once you update the webpage content then create backlinks from good resources and I'm sure you'll notice improvements in rankings and see visitors as well.

Just resubmit the site's sitemap. Or Submit your URL manually which forces Google to fetch information.

Just Posting Images wont help as the users will get confused and frustrated after landing on your page. Regular fresh content is very important to rank in Google. Now-a-days with all the updates going on, Google is giving preference to unique content.
