SEO Ninjas...I need your help!

Hey all,

Here's what I have going on for 2013:

1. Shoot and edit 1 new video per week.
2. Distribute that video to the top 10 video sites.
3. Strip the audio and submit that to the top 10 audio/podcast sites.
4. Take the script and post as an article to the top 10 article sites.

The play is to drive traffic to our squeeze page and thus drive lead flow.

Here's my SEO question: Is this going to hurt our rankings in Google for our blog posts? I'm worried that Google might see this as un-natural backlinking.

....but I'm not even trying to backlink. I just simply want to gain more exposure for the videos and drive in leads.

Thoughts?

    As far as your video and podcast activity is concerned, unless you are also leaving links at these sites, that is not backlinking. If you are inserting a link somewhere on video/podcast sites, I wouldn’t worry about that looking spammy if its only 10 sites each.

    Where I would be careful is with the article submission and the anchor text you are using in those articles. Vary the anchor text for every submission and don’t make them look all the same. When you create a backlink, think of it from the perspective of a webmaster creating a link naturally. Would 10 webmasters of different websites stop and think “oh, hes probably trying to rank for x,y,z keyword so I’ll use that as anchor text.” No, they will use whatever comes to mind or whatever looks best in what they are writing. If all the anchor text is the same that is a classic footprint. If you have only done 10 so far that’s not too alarming but start changing up your anchor text.

      I think I'm going to scrap the article distribution. It seems that there's too much risk for little reward.

      As far as the video/audio sites go I would be leaving a link on the site but it would just be to my sign-up page. Remember, my goal here is to gain exposure to my videos...not to backlink and try to rank our posts.

    Most of those links will be no-follow and non-anchorable , so don't even worry about it.

    That's a nice strategy. Leaving a link to sign up page looks more genuine and also will attract a lot of people. Also Upload the video on Facebook. It will be really good.
