Who is this guru?

Somewhere, probably in his mother's basement, there lives
an SEO guru. His following is immense, but consists of nothing but
SEO wannabes who have no life, logic, reasoning, common
sense, and they refuse to read anything else.

This guru takes a sentence from google that he misquotes from
some unreliable source. Then he blogs to his half blind followers,
by mixing the quote up, misquoting completely, and his followers
lap it up.

Then those followers come here and start threads,
Gee Wally, how do I get around ______________________
(fill in the blank with whatever voodoo SEO, latest buzzword is you wish)
I know it's a fact, and I know everybody else knows it, so how do
I get around it, use it, and make my site just perfect for google?

Who is this guy? Why does he have so many followers just waiting
for the kool aid?

      I think it sad that because Yukon says he is leaving you of all people are taking the opportunity to rat him out. You were brothers. he stood by your side. There was not a thread you started he did not have your back. Every thread you felt pain in he felt it too. When a tear rolled down your cheek it made him cry too. When you fell in love with the same woman he stepped aside and let you woo her saying "not you Paulie. I would never make a woman break our bond". If Pizza gave you indigestion he threw up for you.

      Now after all of that and naming his first born male "Paul" and his keychain specially made in the letter P you turn on him and expose his Adense and "Silo" techniques. For shame Paulie for shame.

        ROTFLMAO! I have no idea what that's about, a joke or something.

        Actually, the thread was in response to Yukon leaving. A response to
        find out who this old man in the cave is that keeps spouting stuff like:
        unique, keyword density, dofollow, quality, word counts, meta
        keywords. The list is endless

        Just read a thread saying google will not index your content if it
        has errors or bad grammar.

        Again, WHO IS THIS GURU?

        Or maybe he's part of a puppet regime, set by a group of you,
        purposely sending wannabes down the rabbit hole, while you
        look on in secret, laughing, as these wannabes comeback and
        post yet another fail thread.

          Whose the "You"? Everybody knows it s not a single individual. Its a Group based on the original CSI

          The Consortium of the SEO Illiterate.

          Its senseless to think its going to change. How many times have we told people that search result count is not a good indicator of competition and every week without fail you will see someone post a search count for competition metric.

    Well, it's quite simple really:

    The people who know SEO do not tell what works, only what doesn't (because they don't need competition). Since the "truth" isn't shared, the only thing that newbies can learn is stuff that was relevant a couple of years ago.

    That's where these "Gurus" come from.

    I know nothing about the guy this thread is about and I know only little more about SEO, and I admit this without beating, but I do know that people who develop crazy following while having little to say (I cannot say if this is indeed so in this case, being quite ignorant in this matter) are not so rare on the internets.

    I think that on trading forums this phenomenon is even worse, and that's one of the main reasons I even don't bother to follow them anymore, even though I am a trader.

    Knowing how bad it is on the trading forums, I can't help but sympathize with those who suffer from it on other forums.

    This forum is actually not that bad in this respect.
