from my experience, a domain with past history is not guaranteed to give you good results. I have tried that myself. having keyword in domain may give you small boost which I have tried in the past. So my take is go with the one having keyword but not something looking spammy when combined with keyword in the content or page titles.

  • Wellm97,

This is a tough question to answer. There is not a lot of definitive proof that having a domain name registered for a long period of time is used by any search engine as a strong ranking signal in search. At one time it was perceived that having a domain name registered for a long period of time indicated that the company or entity or whatever it was that owned the domain would be around for a while but keep in mind that some registrars don’t give out this information.

Check out this post from searchengineland and video by Matt Cutts where he mentions that this element is not necessarily as important as most people think.

Google Says Domain Registrations Don't Affect SEO, Or Do They?

    Hope that helps,

Exact Keyword domain would be great, since it is very much relevant. But then again there is the danger of EMD update which Google released and penalized many sites. It is really very tricky.

      Really a nice Question!,

In the case mostly you have to peep the Google process of searching a website to show in the result list.

No issue if "Your keyword==Your Domain Name". Definitely Google will consider it, because the Google says that first they search the domain name, with relevant keyword.

Now come to the another truth, you may have seen the website "W3schools.com". Search with the programming language keywords and automatically this website will be seen on the top of all.

The third issue is that whenever two or more than two domains is similarly matching the users keyword, Definitely Google will see now the domains age and User friendly sites.

      Hope for the best
