Indexing issue and Duplicate content.

Hello,
I've a job website and many people uploading their job in my website daily. but horrible things is their job description is fully duplicate which are already published on few of my competitors website. Is it a problem? How can i fix it or what would be a great step without loosing my clients?

    Yes, duplicate content on your site is a major problem, as Google penalizes for duplicate content. You can paraphrase their job descriptions to make them unique.

      How do you paraphrase it and what will this tell the google bots? "student-jobs.ca/Entry-level/Field-Service-Technician/43/ " it is the one of job description page. is rel canonical parameter any issue for indexing problem?

    Many people was using robot.txt files for duplicate content but now as we know Google is getting very smart engineers so they are avoiding those type of duplications.

    I would like to tell you that remove those posts, content which is doubtful or stolen because its not good for your website's future. You can get many of new clients after deleting duplicate content users. You can hide other things but you can't content. Content is the King of SEO.

    check every post and ensure it's original before publishing it, you should tell the visitors that only original and unique content will be accepted.

    in this case you have to change your site setting so that a post will not go live until you approve it.

    You can put this in your site's terms and conditions that please upload unique content only. Duplicate content will not be published. This thing must be shown on the page where people upload their Job Openings.
