Would you agree with my SEO theory about BLP vs BLD?

Hey Warriors,

I am in the middle of coming up with a new( I think) method for promoting my websites. Anyways, I am have this theory about backlinks to a certain page vs backlinks to a certain domain. For an example there is a search term with 10k monthly searches. The top spot is an authority site like about.com but the url does have many backlinks on the page does. Would a website with similar on-page optimization outrank the authority website if it had more backlinks pointing to the url? What I think this says to Google is that yes the authority site has a good reputation for providing good content, but for this specific term this smaller website is more popular because of the backlinks it has. What do you guys think?

Didn't exactly get what you are pointing to. But I can say that beating a website having high authority with only backlinks would be very tough. You will have to do very smart SEO to beat such a site.

bump. I was asking if an new site with a lot of "good" backlinks to a specific URL would outrank an authority site with 0 or few. If the new domain had kw in title, description, and header
