Tiered Link Building Strategies

I am starting to create pages on web2 platforms and social sites to use as tier1 links..

what are the best strategies to go about this?

Is it best to include the main keyword in title, first sentence etc.. in the articles on these tier1 sites? Or is that too over-optimized?

I thought a link to other authority sites in my niche from these tier 1 sites as well as a link or two back to my main site... using the kw as anchor text for some and lsi words for others. What about the anchor text to the authority sites..should that be a keyword too?

Any other points worth considering about building these tier1 pages?

THANKS in advance...for your help everybody.

Web 2.0 websites like Tumblr, Blogspot, Wordpress, etc. are good. Their authority can help us get ranked in google. The important thing is to add unique content everytime to get the most from them.

...yes, unique quality content updated every week or so for a while... I wonder how many I would need.. I guess that can only be experimented with. I think I will answer my own question.... I think not to worry about kws. really as long as it is topic relevant...should be okay.

But any further insights for first tier link building would be fantastic to hear about?

You're just doing fine with that really. Quality and unique contents posted on a weekly basis is not bad however, just try to vary some of your money keywords if your linking back to your money sites. Try also embedding videos on your blogs and some alt tags on your images.

Keep building links as long as you have decent quality content and you reached your highest ranking. Important thing is to track your ranking so you know what is working and what is not.

Really this is how you do it, it doesnt need to be more complicated than this:

    1) Tier 1 - Contextual properties. High DA domains.
    2) Tier 2 - Auto links from tools.

You can make it more complicated if you want and add more layers, which i sometimes do depending on my goal (Theoretically its safer to add more layers, in practice it doesnt really work like that)

      Thanks
Tier 1: Web 2.0 blog network (Rank wyz), Articles, Wikis (Most SE Nuke properties), Blog network links (More risky).

Tier 2: VPS with Xrumer and Scrapebox making comments. Also i run Wiki bomber and SB Bomber.

Use spun content, dont waste your time sticking unique content on properties that are not really HQ, google cant really tell the difference. I have hundreds of thousands of indexed spun articles, maybe millions.

It is a good strategy, works in SEO niches where its hard to get good links. I use this with a mixture of buying PR domains and buying high authority links (Look at top competitors backlinks or competitors for related terms backlinks, then steal them).

      Hope that helps.

    LSI is BS.

Linking to web 2.0 and the likes gives you nothing but a worthless PR0 links.

Simply use your naked URL 60%+ times and your anchor -40% times and you will be safe.

The most important thing is the quality of links that link to your site otherwise expect no significant increase in ranking.

You also don't need to have your anchor in your article title or content, the site/content should just be related to your niche thou that doesn't mean getting links from unrelated site won't be of massive impact to your ranking.

Sick and tired of the BS going on.

nope it isn't. You just have not gotten into a serp yet where it displays itself evidently. Want to see it in big display? Work in a serp including a town name. include nearby towns and alternate names for a town,

First time I saw it was in a UK serp. Could not understand for the life of me why a site was ranking number three without more links and without the keyword anywhere on the page. Consulted a map and figure it out. It had related keywords associated with that area even though it did not have the town name.

      Thats LSI at work.

I use tools for all link building except high PR domains...pretty easy with proxies and good content to post...provided you know how to use the tools properly...most don't, therefore they say its not a good idea...

Tiered plan is good to get fast index. I like this structure.

          1. go to blogger and make a new blog
          2. write your article on that blog (pref +700 words)
          3. anchor the keyword(s) to your money site

          4. (here u start tier 2) use scrapebox or other tools to backlink your blogger blog for fast indexing and link recognization
          5. ping everything

Exactly it happens all the time.

Do a search for <any product name> offers

and look how many pages don't even have the word offers on them once

The actual number of web 2.0 websites you should start depends on the keyword you want to rank for! If it is medium or low competition keyword, only a few are enough (5-7 websites at all), but you should increase this number if you want to rank for a high competition keyword! // Also do NOT forget to also build tier 2 backlinks (backlinks to those web2.0 sites)

It is not always necessary to keep main keyword in title, first sentence etc. Keep it random. Your articles should read natural.

        Matthew,

Thanks a lot. I have since reviewed your blog, and just want to say that I found a few takeaways myself. Everyday is a learning process for me, and has been for almost a decade now.
I recently purchased Simple Video Pro and have intentions of doing something big with it, though I'm having some problems getting it setup, and their support is shit, from what I've seen thus far.

        Thanks for everything, talk soon,

No build tier 1 manually and tier 2,3 you can use automated software if you want like senukex, magic submitter.

    Code:

    webs.com,7.68
    livejournal.com,7.53

Interesting conversation. I also use WordPress, Blogger, Squidoo, YouTube and Weebly to build my 2 tier backlinks. Have virtually dropped using software like BloggingUnderground for 1st tier linking after the latest round of Google updates.

I think the key focus is -
    - mix up your linking
    - mix up the properties/sites you use
    - don't overdo it

With Penguin 2.0 lurking, I think the massive blogcomment and forum profile blasts are probably gonna take a hit (although we won't know for sure until there's hard data)...

In either case, my recommendation is to make the Tier 1 and Tier 2 smaller, but improve the quality of each tier overall...

So at Tier 1, build 20-30 links on the best Web 2.0s, and then at Tier 2 support it with social bookmarks, pdf sites, article directories, .edu blogposts and some wiki links. Complete, relevant forum profiles on reputable sites and relevant blogcomments on decent sites still have their place, the key is to make it relevant and appear natural.

Also, there's no need to post unique content on each and every Web 2.0. If you have 2-3 unique articles, you can easily post these across 20-30 Web 2.0 sites without a problem...there will still be plenty of linkjuice to go around. Remember, News sites and the big content hubs routinely syndicate content, so duplicate content isn't as big of a deal as its made out to be.

The key is to balance the duplicate content with unique content on your site, and when you syndicate duplicate content out, try to limit the number of sites its duplicated on.

Stick it to BIG G and make that Penguin look like a Pigeon!

Matt I have been watching some of your videos and had a few questions about Tiered link building, would this still be considered as white hat seo?

From what I've been reading I've been getting mixed signals not to use automated software for any part of the link building process, but in your videos you stated that you should always build your tier 1 links naturally then use automated software to build tier 2 links, wouldn't that easily get flagged from google as un natural or at risk ?

In my opinion there is no such thing as white hat seo.

The second you build a link to your site you violate webmaster guidelines so its all blackhat if you ask me.

Whether that link is created manually or automated is irrelevant.

Azokaei, it's not just a matter of whether one uses a tool or creates links manually. It is quite possible to use tools to post good content with contextual links that deliver good juice on pages/sites with good authority in an intelligent way. That being said, do a lot of automated tools make it easy to post a massive amount of crappy links that could hurt your rankings? Yes!
