Hello Marketers,

I got interested in the world of marketing about a year ago (Feb '12) I really didnt have any expirience and i bought into a lot of the videos and hypes of over night success and this and that. Obviously over the last year i found out what BS that is. Anyways, I kinda lost focus on the whole idea due to many many personal issues. Now that everything in my life is starting to fall back into place i really wanna get back into it. I do work a full time job so my timing is sorta limited. I would like to hire an seo service until i can seriously wrap my head around it (plan on taking a couple courses over the next year or two). Do these services actually work, and if i do hire someone will i make money without worrying about keeping up with it or what. My other issue is money. i made not one dime of any of my sites all year and thats mostly because of the loss of focus and also how many times i changed my niche. My site has been a complete mess over the past year and im looking for a fresh start. i chose a niche that pertains to my actual job cause i figured thats what you know so why not go at it. Can anyone toss some advice or help or anything. Another thing is I wanna take a different approach by trying to find myself a partner to just keep eachother going and lessen the work load a little bit.( i will provide domain hosting design and more....) So if there is anyone out there - Beginner - Novice - Amatuer - Expert - Anything that would like to partner up just shoot me a messege with what you can bring to the table and hopefully i can find someone that is ready and willing to make some money. Let me know an everyone have a safe and fun new year. Thanks - Steve

SEO services can be very expensive and there are no real guarantees with a service. My advice is do it yourself and learn unless money's no object for you. Don't fall for the crappy backlinking scams out there. In many cases they will get you the opposite outcome.

First of all the one thing you need to develop is, focus. Focus on one thing at a time. It's best to set goals, long term, short term and then the things that need to get done daily to meet them. It's like the old proverb...How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

It's when you don't focus and try to take on more than you can handle or get distracted and inconsistent effort, that nothing works.

I don't know what you do for a living, but if you want any level of success with IM you have to treat it like you do your job or business. Forget all the hype and bullshit. There's no magic in IM. It's like anything else, you just have to plan your work and work your plan. Take positive productive action everyday in your IM business and become a student of IM. There's lots of good information on this site and a lot of it is either free or cheap.

If you need a mentor then get one, but realize it won't be cheap for a good one. If you can't afford that, then join some of the mastermind groups out there. There are a lot of good ones, it just depends on what your IM goals are, but there are plenty, for nearly ANY niche.

    Best wishes!
