Article Spinning Harming Lots of SEO Customers?

Just had another client today that had paid someone to spin some articles and distribute them a few months ago and now they found themselves with a lower ranking, and asking me what to do about it now. Probably the only thing they can do is go into webmaster tools and disavow hundreds of links, and hope this passes.

I just don't get why people bother creating worthless content and thinking there is a shortcut. Even worse, people fall prey to this stuff. Not good!

    Google can tell if an article is copied or not. They are always one step ahead.

    The best thing one can do is to write an original piece of work themselves.

    Plus, even if you do write your own, there is no guarantee that you will be on page 1 or even page 2 on Google.

    What bothers me even more is when I find people putting up PLR AS IS. It would take an extra 10 minutes to totally rewrite articles so they are original. When the base content in the article is accurate and well written you'll be able to get other original articles using the researched content. I think some people get caught in the trap of getting/wanting something for nothing or no work. Marketing takes time and effort - period.
