Let say you have a site about "cat food" called with the following url:

"cheapcatfood.com"

You bought a domain with the following metrics:

name: Healthyanimalfood.com
Pagerank : PR2
Domain Authority: 37
Trustflow: 16
Backlinks: 6400 (related backlinks)
Age: 4+ years old
Alexa: No alexa

You get the drift, I got a related domain, no content, how to best profit my main domain from this seo juice of previous domain ?

And secondly, what if the backlinks of this domain where not related at all ? (medication backlink) ?

    Any new domain can also perform good, so if you are going to start your project then you can start with new domain as well, with old domain, you have to check if it is penalized or not, this is main thing today.

    I would suggest you to add some unique content on the site and wait for it to get indexed. It is important that your website has related content.
