Hi

I had a site which was number 1 page one on google usa.

Now the site has dropped to like page 10. Site is quite new like 3 months old. Stayed number 1 page 1 for about 2 months.

Things i have done recently which could effect the ranking?

1.Added a content form (Takes up a bit of space and the main article is now towards the bottom of the first page of the site, could this be a issue?)

What should i do now, Buy some seo plans or is this a permanent placement drop with G.

2.Added a content locker, not to my sites main page but to inner pages. I guess google de indexes these pages whilst they have a content locker on them, Could that effect the ranking?

Site is ((free-netflix-account.com)

i am thinking it is a case of adding more content possibly? and getting more backlinks

Any advice is greaty appreciated

Thanks

I don't use content lockers, so this is only a guess, but I would guess that it would be that. Google has probably been working on filtering those out of the search results because they definitely don't provide value to those searching.

I would say remove the content lockers, add new high quality content, build some high quality backlinks and see what happens. without more information, the biggest problem would likely be the content locker.

      Hi

Yes i would tend to agree, i have not put the content locker on my home page url, but i think it could be that, this is what i think i will do

      1.Remove all content lockers

2.Make 5 pages with 800 word articles on each page, keyword density 1.8% on each article.

      3. The do some more off site seo

Can anyone recommend a warrior offer on here for the seo part

      Thanks

Ok, it's a total spamfest that has nothing to offer traffic. You have an EMD & some keyword stuffing.

While I certainly don't agree with yukon's explicit unhelpfulness (just don't post if you're going to be useless) I do see where he's coming from. The site looks spammy, plain and simple.

Here are a few things I would adjust:

            • The Sidebar - You have nothing going on here except the default links, so just get rid of everything. Put your email form here, and make it look nice.
            • The Popup - I don't dig it. It needs to be a banner ad or only show up one time, and not the first time. It needs to at least be delayed or scroll-sensitive. Super annoying for users.
            • The Permalinks - For example, this page
              Code:
              http://free-netflix-account.com/?page_id=24
              should have this URL
              Code:
              http://free-netflix-account.com/usa-offers/
              or something like that.
            • The Content - If your goal is rankings, then you need more of it... A LOT more of it, and better written, too. You need to consistently publish relevant content for the best results.
            • The Top-Menu - Trim it down to only the pages you want to rank...Don't just list every page on your website up there.
            • The Design - Just generally needs to be cleaned up. If you're not going to bother getting a header that looks nice, just don't have one.

As for the off page SEO, I don't know what you've done so I can't speak to that. However, I would definitely take some time to figure out a white-hat backlink strategy that does not involve "buying SEO plans".

Honestly, it's often very difficult to get a website like this ranking naturally. I'm willing to bet that your brief stint at the top of page 1 was a fluke, and that you only managed to get there at all because you made the site back when EMDs were a thing, and maybe you shot some quick janky backlinks at it for a short-lived boost.

            Have you considered PPC traffic?
That might honestly be your best bet, and with some testing I believe there is definitely money to be made here. You could also try off-line advertising, or something else creative like that.

              What a joke.

That spamfest site will NEVER get approved by any quality PPC. Talking about useless, you just wasted your time trying to find alternative traffic for a site that serves no purpose. Probably has a bounce rate out the roof.

        <rant>

        I'm with yukon.

I think telling someone that a site is a spamfest is enough...there's no need to hold someone's hand to tell him why it's a spamfest.

Last I checked IM was a business and most business owners don't rely on hand holding from other businesses to succeed.

I understand the need for constructive comments...and Yukon's was one IMHO.

Oh, and it doesn't help that you have such a spammy site...that doesn't make people more inclined to help you.

If you had an awesome site that contributed something useful to the internet people would be falling over themselves to help you out.

    Hi "checking it out".

Have you figured this out yet? It was August and September that
the Penguin and Panda came along and changed everything. I had
    similar things happen.

This is "good and bad" and I have been doing my best to keep up
to the Google Monster. My original trainer went to work for them
back when Alta Vista and Yahoo were "it" and then he disappeared.

I am thinking they "owe me" so I have been trying to "get even"...lol.

At any rate if you are still trying to figure them out I would be happy
to give you what I have learned about it since then.

    John

Not an answer to you question but only a future suggestion. You may want to consider diversifying your anchor text a bit more when working on your link campaign. It needs to be more mixed than it currently is. Just my opinion for future reference.

Also as others said the pop up box is very annoying.

-when did you acquire all the links to it. A short time before this happened? If I was the type that was into saying quality links are a must and crap ones will kill you, im betting half your problem is there after looking at them.

I would suggest you to change it back to how you had it before the drop on the search engines. I had a similar incident, and that solved it for me
