    There is no role to gain your Rank via Proxies basically Proxies is used to do off Site SEO for the sites you want to do.

    But it's necessary if you are doing it on a normal scale then not needed if you doing in good scale then most needed.

    For posting and registering take Private Proxies that supports SEO works and tools.

    For scraping backlinks etc. use Public free proxies it's best.

    Yes it can help lot more..but don't try bad seo tricks or short cut... Get good Backlinks and provide good Content having On page Seo....
