Which TLD is best for Google out of .info .ws .mobi .biz .me .co .us

Yes, I am aware that all of us are in love with .com or otherwise .net and that's it. I'd like to ask this question, when you have no choice but to have one of

.info
.ws
.mobi
.biz
.me
.co
.us

Which one would you chose and why?

The situation is, I'd like to target a 3 words keyword. All of the TLD for exact keyword are booked. However, I've registered all of the above TLD for the singular version of those keyword. I've also updated DNS and ready to host them and make sites out of them.

Before I talk about strategy, which is going to be very interesting. Let's share our views about which TLD do you think works best out of these?
#biz #google #info #mobi #tld

Google will say there is no difference, but I would prefer .com/net/org and none of the others.

I think the com/net/org domains are already so he's deciding between the other TLDs. Obviously you'd rather choose .com if it's available, then .net as a second option, .org, etc (this pattern is for general use such as a blog), however if it's not available then you can't really do anything about it but move on

As for the OP, I don't have too much of a clue in SEO (my focus is paid traffic), but .co is what I'd choose for branding purposes. A domain that ends in .co sounds way better than one that ends in the other ones.

Yes, you're absolutely right alex. That's what I believe and has experienced. However, for the keywords I've registered the domains for, as I see Google SERPS, there are .biz .me and other ranking on first page too.

Since this is going to be very specific niche site, I think these TLD will make to the top. What do you think? I am planning to provide quality content, maybe not regular content however, quality content.

Honestly IMO, I have experienced better rankings with .com/net/org. Maybe I am just paranoid, but that is my experience.

Butter, YouTube is blocked here, I'll watch that in a while. Thank you. You're right Alex, but the question was indeed about out of the available options. Because when you're talking about niche keywords, .com/.net/.org are mostly already registered. Now there are big fishes everywhere and to get your chunk, you need to do something

This gives birth to a very interesting SEO discussion. How do you think I should link together 7 different TLD's? For example, I can make .biz my main site and let rest of these a 301 permanent redirect. On the other hand, I can make sites for each of the domain and make them link with each other. Is that going to benefit in anyway? Let's say we have unique and quality content on all of these 7 sites. Yes, there won't be regular content but good quality content. Will that make a difference? Which approach is better in your opinion according to SEO too? If we have 7 sites hosted on same C-class IP, will the link exchange help?

A lot of creative and very useful questions/answers here I believe. Ideas?

Butter, perfect. I've seen the video and that's what I really do. However, I think with niche sites, its at times best to leave geo targeting as it is. Specially after the panda/penguin update, I do not see much use of targeting specific country if you're trying to run a general blog type content.

Why not... The point of the niche site is to be laser targeted is it not? If you can geo target a site to your biggest customer base, why not do that? Heck your mainly trying to sell it to that country anyway, do the market research, find where your biggest pool of buyers are and do everything you can do to help you get to them buyers.

With EMD's being smacked around by Google, I don't think you need those anymore. If the top 3 are not available, I just go to godaddy auctions and buy a 14 year old relevant domain for $20 and used them instead.

I think Matt Cutts tweeted something last month about EMD's being slapped even more.

I agree, but that's right when you're trying to sell products. I am just trying to earn a few dollars via adsense here and try things out to see how it reflects. I am going to practically do it and see the effects of the overall work. I'll update you guys with how it goes

There was a guy who built adsense sites with nothing but EMD .info domains. Last time I heard he was making about 3k/month with it. That was before penguin/panda, I'd like to see what his earnings look like now...

Alex, I did try that auctions thing. In fact I purchased around 30 domains overall from different niches which are going to expire soon..... so what was the problem? glad, you asked. Rankings... I noticed, those domains suffer initially to achieve any kind of good rankings. The effort/amount/time you have to spend on getting an old relevant auction domain to achieve rankings is more than a new ones. Just my two cents for what I've tried.... maybe I didn't do something smartly.

I totally believe in making long term, high quality sites. To do that, I need funds. To reach up to that level, specially after my recent loss in stocks, forex... i really need to do my best and come up with a good chunk of money again.

So this seems to be a good start. I would be very much interested in talking about how to plan these sites for launch? from SEO perspective. As I said, we could be doing 301 redirection for all domains to one domain. Or build all of these? Will the same c-class ip link exchange benefit the site to rank for the same keyword? Since the domains are same keyword domains too, giving same anchor text links.... you know what i mean?

What do you think about the link wheel direction? from site1 to 2,3,4,5,6,7 or site2-7 linking to site1 (whichever we focus most on).

    Interesting!

I always stare people who talk about branding. Why? because I love branding and the value that branding can create is mellifluous and surprising. So Ben Gordon .co mmmhmm

I'd love to discuss more about the SEO side of things, specially because these are niche sites and best to plan them ahead before getting everything done.
