Keywords versus customer intent

SEO has evolved a lot over the last couple of years. Sure, Google makes little tweaks to the algorithm driving SEO all the time, but recent Panda and Penguin updates really changed the whole nature of SEO; penalizing a number of high profile sites for keyword loading and other shady SEO tactics.

And, SEO is changing again. Search Engine Watch (one of my 2 favorite SEO websites) recently published a post entitled, "Keywords are Dead? Long Live Customer Intent". It's a great post and demonstrates the extent to which the new normal of Google search impacts the way you do business.

What do you think about this issue?

I was worry too after study about "Keywords dead" but practically, i am not agree with Search engine watch because they are talking to develop brand awareness . Yes branding is also important but search term or keywords will be important for ever to find result from any data base. And i think. Google has huge data base to provides result. for visitors.

So, keywords can never be die, in SEO.

Ya i am agree with you regarding updates so i will suggest you to keep your eyes open when u develop single link for you domains.

The whole problem with your premise is one that keeps on
going. That google changes to algo mean anything to SEO.
      They don't.

Good SEO, truly good SEO, for at least the past 8 years, is
      still good SEO.

The fact that snake oil salesmen keep trying to find ways
AROUND good SEO, is what prompts google's algo changes.

If google search impacts the way you do business, then you
do not have a real business to begin with.

Shady SEO tactics were never SEO to begin with. People keep
forgetting that, or don't want to believe it.

Good SEO techniques are boring and take time and consideration.
Those are not as attractice to the snake oil salesmen and the
people who lap up their swill.
