301 redirect - what pages to redirect?

Hi guys,

I'm moving site (but not content), and I'm keen to find out which pages are best to 301 redirect.

Shall I just redirect all of the content to the new homepage of the new site?

Is that too many redirects?

Or shall I just choose the pages with most authority and link through the homepage of the new site?

    Hope you might know the list of pages you get maximum hit, apply 301 redirect for that page and copy the content of the remaining pages and make a note that this content is moved to new location and past the link of the New link.

    I would say redirect those pages, which are important from earning point of view, as they would be getting traffic before.
