Good afternoon Warriors!

So, I have a client who has around 54 lost backlinks that are coming from suspended/de-indexed domains (article networks), and I'm trying to decide if I should disavow those links or just leave them alone.

What would you do? Would you disavow links that are coming from suspended/de-indexed domains, or leave them be? Will disavowing those links help the rankings for that site?

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Warriors!

Yep disavow them if they dont have any good content on them. If they have good content, with dofollow links, leave them, as it is still possible they are helping rankings.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I really appreciate your feedback.

Sometimes it's tricky when walking into a link profile that you've never seen before. The last thing I'd want is my new client's rankings to fall completely off the map because I disavowed a number of links.

      Thanks again!

Although I've yet to hear a true success story coming from the disavow tool. But I guess it's worth a shot. Google gives us something that could be quite useful but disappointing results so far.

There are two things can help you make a decision:
1 Website PR. PR3 above website will be no hurt when these 54 article directory links lost, but PR1, and 0 will be hurt so much. Google will never put the site into the sandbox, but will drop the SERP. Once the things happened again, that will trigger google "unnatural back links".

2 The search engine you target. Local search engine like google.com.au, google.co.uk will be no problems, but for google.com, you must very very careful, that's Matt Cutt's area.

Why would there be any success from the disavowal tool?

You are just making that crap up. And even if that were true, which it's not, you have no idea what the actual PR of your website is.

Disavow would be the way to go, but the sites being "de-indexed" it means the links coming from those sites would be deemed non existent so not bothering about them would be alright.

but if you just want to be "safe" disavowing them would be the way to go.
