I recently used the Remove URLs tool in Webmaster Tools to remove a site from Google. The status says that every url has been removed, but when I search on Google the main homepage of the site is still indexed, but the inner pages are not indexed.

I want to move the content from the site to a new domain, but im wondering should I wait until the main homepage is no longer indexed in Google? I ask this because the main homepage contained excerpts from the articles which are on the site. Im wondering would this mean the content wouldn't be deemed as fresh in Google's eyes when put on the new domain.
