One of the most loved sites by Google is Wikipedia and it will always be..

So you can not avoid getiing in contact with it if you are a Real SEO.

Now listed in 285 languages and encompassing over 4 million pages in English, Wikipedia is what it set out to be: a user-friendly online encyclopedia. However, Wikipedia is not a directory.

And they're happy to let you know that. For this reason, they are particular about what brands + businesses are eligible to have a Wikipedia page.

You can create a page, but if your company does not have any notable accomplishments or accolades to speak of, its likely that it will be removed by the system administrators.

I have some friends that have succed to put their own links on Wikipedia. I was always rejected... Wtf .. i will still triyng ...

Do you have such a Wikipedia link to your sites? Please share with us something from your wisdom...

People get rejected on Wikipedia because they only show up on the site with their hands out (what can you give me) instead of saying "How can I help you, help me?".

Wikipedia has thousands & thousands of pages that need people to improve the quality of the content.

I have plenty of links on high PR Wikipedia pages, they've been live links since 2011, with keyword anchor-text. I've never had a Wikipedia link rejected, it's simple, I helped, I didn't show up asking what can you give me.

No, I'm not going to be specific other than saying help improve Wikipedia's quality. If I'm specific in how to get the Wikipedia links without being rejected, that's all people will be focused on, instead of trying to help Wikipedia improve quality. It's not complicated to figure out.

according to some threads a year or two ago basically you just fake being a real editor enough so they don't remove your links

Sounds like your trying to be a be a smart azz that's referring to what I posted a couple of years ago about Wikipedia links. You clearly made reference to my comment above in this thread (2011, two years ago).

        Don't be a smart azz.

You must be like ten years old. I didn't mention your name at all and this thread started in 2013 but yeah since you want to call yourself out it was you shelling out to people that they should dishonestly fake being an editor so as to slip your links in unaware. I mean you can sign up for service to leave a link that allows you to but to pretend to be a legit editor to slip one is a whole nother matter. As for being smart I don't need to try son. I just am

(the page i mostly deleted and made to sound stupid was/is still unchanged but me posting a link onthe page before the moderators deleted my link within a few days...)

Anyway you dont get any credit for Wikipedia entries anyway...not even a little bit saying this was written by.....

I hope nobody "donates" to the dumb thing.
So first it was Web 2.0's and their stupid rules not allowing you to blast your links wherever you wanted. Now it's Wikipedia at fault.

I submitted a start-up website to Wikipedia and it is still on there.
I remember I had to go through a lot of work to get it on there though. (I had to edit other articles, and provide solid evidence that the company had notable achievements).

I never kept track of how well Google handled it. It was more for a PR thing, but I remember it was a complete hassle.

My opinion is that we talk about ... some privilegies for some users..Something like Dmoz , where i have find editors that for the right money resolve all the problem...

I have started this thread because i have a history... a competitor of mine has a link for 5 years now on a commercial site , i have tried to post one as a resource a blog , not commercial but got deleted...so what should i think...

I am a bad editor .. or is something else out there?
