So what is a decent CTR for adsense?

Hi Everyone,

I have been curious as to what a good CTR is for a site...is 1% OK or is this just bad? I've tried all sorts of different placement and sizes...I'm not getting better than 1%. Should I look into a different theme in wordpress or is this the average for most?

    1% is ok.. 3% is decent. over 5% is suspicious.

      That's great to know, thank you! I would love 3%. Any thoughts on how to get that? Should I hire a ctr specialist...is there even such a thing? thanks!!

    In my experience, CTR is heavily dependent on the industry you are advertising in. Some industries can muster higher CTR’s than others and it may not be appropriate to look for one average CTR for all kinds of internet advertising.

    Some things that can affect your CTR

    -Quality of your traffic
    -relevancy of ads to content of your website
    -Placement

    If you have toyed around with placement and that hasn’t helped, perhaps the ads are not as relevant to your users as they should be?
