Hey Everyone,

Can you please provide links or describe in detail what you feel are the most effective SEO strategies today even with the new Penguin and Panda algorithm updates from Google.

I've read through a few pages of threads and there's some good information but most of it is extremely general and some people agree and others disagree with the information provided.

Thanks for your help and advice!

  • This is my favorite, and very effective, SEO strategy:

First: Use this online tool to spy on your competitors' backlinks: Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch

Just go to the site, enter your competitor's website, and reveal many of their backlinks in a matter of minutes!

How can this tool help you? Use your imagination. If you see that the site that your competitor's backlink is placed on allows dofollow comments (the tool shows this), go make a comment on that same site using your keyword as the anchor text.

Tiered Backlink Structures (Link Pyramids, Linkwheels) and anchor text diversification are very important techniques since the Penguin update. Here's a good instructional article/video about how to build a linkwheel: SEO Link Wheel Explained | Traffic Is King

    Hope that helps

its really simple.. Go unique and natural.....

there should be naturalness in each and every step....

whether its On-Page optimization of link building or SMM...

even if you are using some tools you should use them as human being... Like semi automated which saves your time towards, report making, filling, data entry, search etc.....

Guest posting has been mentioned lots of times as one of the most effective off page strategies out there.

You are not only helping others in producing contents, you can also get some good quality link backs from them. Besides, this strategy can keep you from those who are spying your backlinks since not all of SEOs are capable of writing good quality contents.

I've been meaning to try this. Do you have any tips on how to successfully get guest posts for my image sharing site? For example, I don't have a blog, so I don't produce any articles. I figure I could write about what my site is, how it differentiates from competitors, and why I made it and submit that. Should I just contact some prominent bloggers in the image sharing industry and ask them to do a guest post with me? I've heard that I need to kind of become friends with them first. Also, do you know of any great ways to research blogs to attempt guest posting on?

      Thanks.

I noted these things specifically after the Google updates for SEO:

    1. interlink pages on your site(to only one) and max of 10 outbound links on a page
    2. use diverse anchor text- not just kw's but also use "click here"
    3. synonym Kws in content not just a main kw, vary it a little bit
    4. 1% density in site content- once every 100 words
    5. relevant backlinks to your site ( niche related)
    6. use copyscape to test your content for duplication
7.vary your alt text, not just kws for your images , don't use same kw over and over for different images
here are some varying url links to link to your site:
    yourabcsite.com
    yourabcsite.com/
    www.yourabcsite.com
    www.yourabcsite.com/
    http://yourabcsite.com
    http://yourabcsite.com/
    http://www.yourabcsite.com
    http://www.yourabcsite.com/
(links not intended to click on, just FYI)

Forget bolding, underlining and italicizing the KW ( over optimizing)

Fantasic advice. I'm currently doing a lot of what you mention (interlinks, varied alt text, limited outbound links). Very interesting about varying the URL links, I will do that.

My biggest problem, since I run an image sharing site, is having good, targeted, consistent keywords on my content since every image is a different subject practically. My other massive problem is I have ZERO backlinks to my site right now :[ Thanks to Julia for her backlink checking website, hopefully I'm on my way to fixing that.
