backlinks and authority site question - suggestion needed

I have an amazon review site with over 100-150 preoduct reviews on it, it is impossible for me to start targeting all the keywords on the site. My question is this:

If am building backlinks only to the home page of the site will it positively affect the rankings of some of my keywords?

Should I be building links to my homepage or please drop your suggestions. Thanks in advance

    You'll have to build links to all (sub)pages you want to rank. Of course, linking to homepage will help you rank subpages as well (especially if your internal linking structure works well).

    You need to keep in mind that building links for authority site is not all that easy. You will need a plan with all keywords which can then be randomly used in different backlinks.

    You'll need to build quality backlinks to all your inner pages and mix it up with social media etc.

    Building ONLY to your homepage is useless, so I would give you an example. If you have 1,000 backlinks to your homepage, it won't have your products there, because each product has its own page where you wrote its description. So it would be better to build NO more than 10% of all the backlinks to your homepage and work really hard on your subpages
