Can someone smarter than me please do this idea?

So - I think I have an idea to help 'unravel' at least PART of a Google algorithm.

But I don't think I'm smart enough to do it.

Say you had like 100 domains.

And each of those domains only did ONE thing based on some obscure keyword.

And you had that keyword in some 'tag' or some 'portion' of each of these domains.

For example:

You had the keyword in one of the domains in the meta title
The next one in a meta description--- maybe even in the meta keywords!
The next in a h1, h2, h3, 1% saturation, 6% saturation...3% saturation... etc.

On another you have the keyword in an alt tag, and whatnot.

So you have a bunch of domains and your keyword assigned to a bunch of tags, and then you do something.

You search for this 'obscure keyword' in Google.

Doesn't it stand to reason that Google will RANK which tags/attributes elements are MOST important at the top and the LEAST important/detrimental towards the bottom?

And couldn't you then 're-search' this every once and a while to see if/when Google's algorithm changes?

Just a thought. I hope someone does this/has done this.

There are still a lot of variables unaccounted for with your idea that will affect the ranking. For example, they will all have a different domain name. That would skew the test. They would all have to have different content too, and that would skew the test too.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

  • Well, even with that, you'd name them

    obscurekeyword1.com
    obscurekeyword2.com

etc. So it wouldn't be THAT much

And with the content, you'd keep it VERY bare --- with JUST that attribute/tag... NOTHING else. (so you could get rid of the saturation - and use it for another experiment)

So they are just domain names with just that ONE thing in the code.

Google use classifiers in their algorithms. This means there are potentially MILLIONS of signals they use.
