How many PR 10 sites in total?

Hi warriors,

The PR is calculated by Traffic and backlinks thats and all we know already.. But how many sites in each PR is somewhat we don't have heard often..

I heard that is, Google has parted the sites by its traffic so it has given ten sites PR 10 and to 100 sites as PR 9 and etc..

I'm just confused of this term because I dont see ten PR 10 sites yet(ten sites having PR 10). As per this term,
10 - PR 10 sites
100 - PR 9 sites
1000 - PR 8 sites
...
.....
......

And if this is true, then each time a site's PR increased, another one site has to lose its PR.. right?

If anyone could explain this, please get me clear.

thanks in advance.. replies would be appreciated..

      Is that true?

Only 100 PR 9, 1000 PR 8 and 10000 PR 7 in all over the world?

Why does it matter how many of each PR there is on the net?

    Why would you even care?

Exactly, why do you care. You cannot get backlinks from those sites.

...didn't know Google take into consideration the traffic to a site when it determines the PageRank. I had the impression that it was all about good backlinks that could get you better PageRank. Good PageRank doesn't necessary mean higher traffic anyway...

I know this post is sort of worthless but...

PR 10 although not "FACT" is highly believed to happen mainly due to the amount of traffic at once, not necessarily in one day or a weeks time but rather high numbers of users at the same exact time, and how often these high loads occur. Facebook does not neccessarily have the highest load on a regular basis, news websites would be more likely to obtain a PR 10 due to the fact they have millions of people around the world on at basically the same times each day, so not only is the same time load high as hell, it is consistant on a daily basis where as sites like Facebook are more of a random rain of smaller loads, still huge numbers, just smaller than say CNN.com would have on any given morning between say 8am and noon. It's all guess work in the end anyway, unless your last name is Cutts.

I was under the impression PR goes up to 9 maximum

For example Facebook - the most popular website on the internet is PR9

Anyway like others say - PR is not worth focusing your time - concentrate on targeted traffic that bring in money - that is all that matters

Probably just out of curiosity and laziness, you can actually just type in Google what you need.

I cant confirm the accuracy of this, but this page says there are 11 PR10 sites now:

you can have as many PR10 as you like! simply put a 301 redirection to a PR10 website and you'll get a PR10 domain.

Lol, I didn't know that still worked. How long before the rank falls back to it's original status?

Thats not true. There's a formula to calculate the number of PR holding pages. Currently there are
    12 PR 10 pages
    (12 * 10) +3 = 123 PR 9 pages
    (123 * 10) + 4 = 1234 PR 8 pages
    (1234 * 10) + 5 = 12345 PR 7 pages
    (12345 * 10) + 6 = 123456 PR 6 pages

I think you got the formula. calculate the rest by yourself.

I just like to learn more coz of curiosity..
Try to learn something useful. Unless you're going to participate in an SEO quiz, its useless.
