unnatural links warning

I received a "unnatural links warning" links removal request
from a web site that asked me to take down link on my site pointed to there site? I have removed the link from my site. Has anyone else ever received such a request?

    The site is requesting this to cut down the inbound links it has, especially those from poor quality sites. They probably qualified your site as one d those.

    Link removal requests are standard enough, just delete the link they asked to be removed and job done. They may have many reasons to seek the removal of certain links, I had it requested to me before where it was an article written by a SEO company that the site in question wanted to remove its association from the sales content of the article.

    Probably there is a webmaster that has been hit by a penalty, getting artificial links in large quantity and he is trying to repair.

    I can guarantee you that many such unnatural links were sold in WSOs here. I'm not going to call anybody out, but I have my regrets that people are still seeing their sites get penalized because they are sold a bad batch of cookies.
