I dont know if I am allowed to post links here but I am having a hard figuring out why this person is outranking me in youtube. I checked out the url in ahrefs and just dont get.

I attached 2 snapshots of the ahrefs data. (my vid and his)

can anyone give some clues.

my onpage video SEO for the video is pretty darn good compared to his

just kind of stuck why

    Maybe because according to the screenshots your video didn't exist until the middle of Jan. 2013, which would mean your video is about a week old. His video is older than Aug. 2012 (established). Is that time frame correct?

        Time/age of a domain/video/article is a huge factor in ranking; Your on page looks better, but the video would need to be as old as his for yours to rank similarly with similar on page SEO.

        Since it would seem your on page is better, it should only be a matter of time before you out rank him

    I believe that one of the major factors in ranking a video in Youtube, apart from the number and quality of inbound links to the page, is also the number of views. If you can get your views up, slowly and consistently, your ranking could also go up. You may wish to also increase the number of keywords in the tags so Google has more opportunities to sell stuff via the Youtube ads.
