Google Webmaster Tools Links Schemes FORUM SIGNATURES

Recently I discovered that Google has added to its policy about link schemes and now includes the following explanation

""""Forum comments with optimized links in the post or signature, for example:
Thanks, that's great info!
- Paul
paul's pizza san diego pizza best pizza san diego"""""

So what exactly does this mean for forum signatures? Does it mean that we should not use anchor text in our forum signatures and that we would be better off linking to our website as linktomywebsite.org when using a signature?

Any clarification would greatly be appreciated.

Anchor text is fine so long as you don't keyword stuff it.

    For example:

When you are in San Diego, check out the best pizzas from Paul's Pizza.

BUT if someone was to make loads of accounts as only use 1 post per account google cannot see any footprints through out the site. Google is highly dumb.
Yeah, you go right on and keep believing that. It is really easy to identify signature links in the code if they choose to.

        MikeFriedman's signature:

        Code:
        </div> <tr> <td class="alt2" valign="bottom" height="100%"style="border-right: 1px solid #000000"> <hr size="1" style="color:#000000" /> <div valign="bottom"> <div align="center"> <br /> <b>- Stay out of the path of Penguin and future Google updates -<br /> <a href="http://theseopub.com/free-report-link-building-methods-to-avoid/" target="_blank">8 Link Building Methods To Avoid</a></b><br />
Every forum (I think WF is Vbulletin) will use a similar method of displaying footer content.

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

Google scours millions of web pages. They know what each platform is. WordPress is coded in a specific way, as are forums, as are WordPress comments. People don't understand that EVERYTHING they do on the internet leaves a footprint. Each link that is made, each comment that is written, GBot gets smarter.

How do you think GBot pulls down networks? it collects data, notices the same prints, sends it off for manual investigation.

Google doesn't want you picking your anchor text..this is unnaturally inflating your own ranking thus a link scheme.
