Honestly I've never seen anything quite like this, and I would appreciate some advice. Maybe some of you have seen something like this.. But probably not.

Here's the situation. I was hired by a guy owns several business's and he's uber successful with them.

One of the business's is about 4 months old and so is it's accompanying website... That gets 0 traffic from organic search. The only traffic I see is direct.

I'm tasked to make the website work (be findable). But! It's been done by him and his wife and it stinks to the high heavens and fails every metric involving onsite and off site seo.

Today I discovered that the entire website is a hodge podge of exactly copied text from other succesful websites in the same industry. There are over 150 pages on this site and they're all copied from other websites. Verbatim even!

It doesn't come up for any of the key phrases no matter how deep I look into the SERP's.

What to do? Is the Domain ruined? Do I just delete the whole thing and start over?

Like I said, admittedly I've never seen anything like this. Any input would certainly be appreciated.

If this post isn't in the right place I would appreciate a mod moving it... Just didn't know where to put it

If your client didn't have permission to copy those pages, then he's a crook and SEO is the least of his problems.

Thank you for the reply Marcia, as web developers, graphic designers, and copy writers, we never like seeing our hard work stolen. What you've said is a given.

I'm past that and into the what now. Is the domain trashed?

He's not ranking for anything. Not going to lose a thing. Trash it and start over.
