Google Places Problem

About a few months ago - our business Google Places disappeared along with our reviews. We no longer showed up on maps and that started the hell.

Now a side note is that we did not do anything fishy - we had it up and didnt mess with it - everything legit.

We went through the email hell of them telling us to look at the guidlines that we "may" have crossed and for us to look at the master Google map to make corrections on map if something was changed.

Nothing - no answers so we deleted our account and started new - got the verification code in the mail - put it in, then got a " pending, being reviewed" which it says can take 4 weeks.

1. Does anyone know anyone that one can contact to get this fixed
2. Could this have been an attack on our account from a competitor and how could they have done this?

Any help would be great:confused:

I've attacked my own listing before with a massive scrapebox blast and got the listing frozen up within a week. Its something that is never talked about on here, but it works because I did it on my own.

I still doubt thats what happened though. I just rarely hear about people attacking google places. It would be easier for most people to leave bad reviews on your listing.

As far as your current problem, I highly suggest you do NOT worry about it.

I created a new listing about 3 months ago. It was in pending review status for at least 2 months. People on here told me this is a very common "problem" now and days, all new listings are getting the dreded pending review status.

However, what you need to do is go to google maps. Type in your phone number, if your listing comes up, then its fine. Trust me.

I did exactly what I was told and things worked out well for me.

Once I found my listing in google maps (it was still in pending review status) I immediately began building citations for it. There are fiver gigs that can help you get started with your first 30 citations.

Or you can do them on your own.

But I've been slowly getting reviews on that listing (even when it was in pending review status I was getting 1 review a week) and building citations.

After about 2 months that status dissappeared and my impressions/traffic began showing up.

My honest suggestion is do NOT worry about it. Its normal. Start getting reviews/citations and they will eventually get around to approving it.

Thanks Red - Hope you are right - we have a lot of citations and are listed with reviews on Yelp etc. Our phone number is all over the place in about 30 directories and I work Google+ and our Google+ page. It is clear we are legit -- so we will see what happens.

      Thanks
