Hi,

My website is result #2 for my keyword.
Nr 1 is wikipedia, pr6 page with 34 backlinks to be found.

My website is like pr0 with about 60 backlinks indexed where from 40 have +pr4
and nearly 90% are dofollow.

So why am i not alteady outranking wikipedia? Will that ever happen?

But now i leave other pages alone as a measure to see if i can get my website even more powerful to beat that website so another website cannot come along and out rank me.

LOL , that is one way of getting rid of them.

I don't think that you can outrank Wikipedia. It is quite difficult unless your keyword has low competition or you website has really good authority.

I tried moderating the page like you said, just minor changes really unnoticeable but within 2hrs it got restored to its original content :/

Thats why i am trying to outrank it instead but i dont know if that is possible as it has a pr6 vs mine pr0

      PR-0 outranking PR-6 is impossible.......

        Absolutely false.

But, at least we have proof of where you are going to and coming
        from.

Anyone need more proof as to why my tone sometimes has a bite
        to it?

        Clear cut example. Sadly.

Wow now i open my thread on the PC and see how many type-O's i've made on the iphone when opening the thread from bed last night.

Anyways.. i went a little deeper and understand now that wikipedia articles mainly rank high because of many internal links from one article to another, the wikipedia page outranking me at this moment has 130k internal wiki links to it. Only 34 external backlinks but yes.. i guess it's not doable for me.

I checked few other keywords like "bank" or "credit" and there are few websites with lower PR outranking wikipedia for those terms locally. They are mainly official bank websites with like +10k external backlinks with various anchors etc.

But going into the blackhat strategies doesn't sound a good idea to me, don't know any other ways to get that many backlinks so i outrank wikipedia. However IMO my content on the subject is more detailed then the article on wikipedia, i tryed placing an external link to the wikipedia article but it keeps getting deleted.

If you offer a product or service you shouldn't really worry about Wikipedia as buyers won't end up there. I mean if I want to buy a laptop, you really think I'm going to click on Wikipedia first? No I just ignore their listing completely and click on the nr 2 site if it looks interesting enough.

Thats the problem, i am not offering a product but a website with information on a specific subject. And however my content is much better and more learnfull then the crappy wikipedia article about this subject, i cannot beat them in rank..
