Blog posts taking ages to appear in Google results

Hi there,

Looking for some advice. My wordpress blog used to rank pretty well in Google for whatever post I write, almost instantly. However now when I make a post it seems to take many days to get included in Google results, I'm wondering why, is there something I can do about it (such as a setting on the blog etc).

Yesterday I made a post about a footballer called Didier Drogba. If I go to google and do a site search for Drogba (drogba site:footyblog.net) Google brings back 0 results.

Would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks

How often do you change your content/put up a new blog post? The more frequent, the quicker blog posts get indexed. How is your internal link structure? If there's a link coming from the homepage, it might get indexed faster.

Thanks for the replies, that was quick!
I think my internal link structure is okay (should be able to check it at footyblog.net), I've selected 4 categories to be shown on my homepage and theres also a sliding news box at the top. Recent posts widget is also on the sidebar.
I try to post every few days, could that be more of the issue?

I was wondering if the theme design might be causing issues, or maybe the sitemap or another setting somewhere.

The theme can sometimes cause a problem. But I guess that won't be a problem. It takes time to index the posts. Also there won't be the same amount time for the posts to get indexed.

Webmasters tell me that I have not had blog posts indexed since the 6th. And I can't find any since that date on Google search?

      What should I do?

Google gives more preference to the website rather than blogs, but you continue to post with fresh content definetly one day,it will be shown better results. While you are creating the content include keyword in the title as well as in the content

Have been including keywords and all that kind of stuff so don't think its a problem like that, just concerned its something simple like a setting on wordpress which is causing the indexing problems.
Anybody else know what could be up?

I think it may be something to do with my theme?
I'm really not sure, I optimize my posts well too.
