Is it ok to have multiple keywords for a home page?

For my Hypnosis Product Reviews site I want to rank for a few keywords (covert hypnosis, learn hypnosis, free hypnosis training, etc.).

Is it wise to rank a home page for multiple keywords? ie, covert hypnosis, conversational hypnosis, hypnosis training courses, etc.

If not, what should I do?

Thanks,
Antonio

Yes you should be working on several keywords at a time, just make sure your homepage content is relevant to the keyword. You can also rank for other keywords within your site.

Stay away from keyword stuffing. Spread your keywords throughout your site into other sections interlinked with your home page. Obviously there's more to it than that, but just don't load your home page with everything.

That is what I figured. Now I need to find some good keywords to target my main page. This is where I'm having a problem. I'm using market samurai, but I'm pretty lost on what to do.

    Forget about keywords.

Just create content that your marketplace is interested in.

It shouldn't be a problem if the keywords are closely related.
However, if you notice that some keywords can be grouped, create a landing site for them and optimeze only for them.
That way is easier to work in each landing site and get links for each.

    Yes, but make it natural.

I've been writing loooong posts lately going after groups of keywords using them once or twice only in a post. In some cases I create same-page links (a table of contents) at the top. These posts tend to do well.

You won't get all of your keywords in your meta title, but if you create amazing content, you'll attract links and traffic which is more important in the long run.

If you don't care about SEO, keywords are meaningless. However, you'll need a different traffic strategy. I'm assuming from your question that you want to rank for multiple keywords on your home page for search engine rankings.

You can certainly use several keywords but watch out for the "keyword stuffing" disease! Google, even though we shouldn't care what they like or not, is likely to "punish" you for it! You have to be careful! There's been so many tricks and easy short-cuts taken by people to try and get on top of the list in the rankings that rules have changed and am sure are changing every minute, without us even knowing about it!

People tend to focus SO MUCH on keywords and so little on CONTENT that in the end, it's their downfall!

Go easy on the keywords and heavy on the content! : If I may say so! That's how I see things anyway and it works for me and others!

    Good luck

Yes you can have 3- 4 keywords in home page. Write a quality content which covers all your keywords and place the keywords in right place.
