EMD something to think about

Hello,

I know everybody has been saying that they don't think EMD's are important anymore. I have launched a new site and just started off page activities. I am optimizing the site for 10 keywords. They are all super tuff to rank for. Now out of all the keywords one of the keywords it's the exact domain. And this is one of the harder keywords out of the set to rank for. I checked today and this keyword is already ranking 14 in google. Non of the other keywords are even in the top 100 yet. the only possible reason for this ranking is because of the EMD.

Maybe I am wrong but out of ten keywords non of them is ranking and this one is # 14.... Just something to think about

In my testing EMD is still taken into consideration with regards to determining types of ads adsense displays on a page.

Adsense uses the keywords on the particular page to display relevant ads.

The name in the domain is also used not just the page content.

If the EMD is the keyword that your using in your content then yes it will.
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't remember ever seeing ads geared toward the site name.

In my testing I found that the domain name plays a part in deciding what ads to display. No one has to believe that, that is just what came up in my testing and has helped me in deciding what domains to register.

From what I have seen in my own tests new EMD sites do really well for a week or so and then drop off. I think it is some trick by google to trap us. Some people will panic and hit the site with links. The trick is to go slow and steady, use some social signals and add new content only and it will come back.

If your building a MFA (made for adsense) site then your wasting your time. The EMD (mild weather report) as Matt Cutts called it took care of the majority of these type of sites.

EMD is important but not in the way your doing it. If your building a site around a central theme then EMD is important. Theming/branding your site is the best way to approach it.

It's a business so you should view it in this way. MFA sites are short term gain and usually very low quality. IMHO

Oh was assuming in adsense forum you were referring to organic traffic for adsense.

For me there's nothing to think about EMD. As far as I'm concerned, I will stay away from EMD's for sure.

i have no idea why.. but my site today is number 2 in google... it has to be because of the EMD. I am not getting that exited because from alot of what i have read it will appear high in the search engines early on and then drop off..

it is not even in the top 100 results for the other 9 keywords yet
