I notice recently that some search results , usually at the top include extra sublinks beneath their listings. For example, type "vintage movie posters" in Google. The first listings has sub categories for his web site. Any ideas? Any Stompernet boys in this forum??

This is done by G bot itself. We can't do anything about it.

is it always for the first position? I see the same web site with even more sub category links for "vintage movie posters for sale".

Don't mix up between google indented listing and "Sitelinks" , I've had few of my pages with indent listing , that were ranked below first position ..

Those are "Site Links" and as has been mentioned they're given by Google as a sign of significant trust and authority.

You'll find that most sites with site links have a fairly logical flow in their navigation that makes them work well that way.

I've had a few sites with site links and they were each long-held, well established properties.

But I seem to recall Andy Jenkins doing a video once upon a time on short-cutting the process to get a "double listing" -- one result with another indented result underneath it. Perhaps it's still floating around out there somewhere. Went into a great deal of detail about one of Andy's ecommerce stores and how he was able to optimize the site for those double listings.

Just to add to my previous post, the following is an excerpt from Google Webmasters Tools > Links > Site Links:

Sitelinks are additional links Google sometimes generates from site contents in order to help users navigate your site. Google generates these sitelinks periodically from your site's contents.

Because we generate sitelinks dynamically, this list can change from time to time.

Sitelinks are completely automated, and we show them only if we think they'll be useful to the user. If your site's structure doesn't allow our algorithms to find good sitelinks, or we don't think that the sitelinks are relevant to the user's query, we won't show them.
