One of my site went from PageRank 0 to PageRank 3! Weeeee!

Any one else notice a PR changes in one of their sites?

Does PR Still matters? If not then why do Google still do a PR update?

    Good job!
Yes, if you look at the most recent threads in this forum, a lot of people have noticed an increase in their PR. My sites (unfortunately) have not received the privilege, but I keep working

Google update PageRank every day - they only publish a snapshot of the values 3 or 4 times a year.

PR matters in that it is one of the 200 or so signals they use to determine what goes where in the search results.

But it's only 1 signal, and it's not as important as it used to be.

I have a site that was PR0 last week, and it's still PR0 today, and it's ranking at #2 for a moderately competitive term.

Same here. I had a site that was PR0 last week, and now it's just a PR1 site (surprising, considering that it has some high PR links pointing to it), yet rankings over the past few days have increased and traffic has exploded. I feel that PR is important when it comes to backlinks, but not much else.

You could have a PR7 site, but if it isn't making you any money then what's the point? Of course, you could sell it for a large chunk of change, or use it to increase rankings on other sites you own, but you get the drift.

No offense to the OP, but this is like the 6th different thread on an update. Does anyone ever look to see if a thread has already been started on a subject first?

No, you probably should offend the original poster. These stupid PR threads get out of hand. On top of that, he was a day late. The update happened on the 4th.

Why do people feel the need to tell a bunch of strangers that their PR went from a 0 to a 2, a 1 to a 3, or a 4 to a 3? Nobody cares.

PR matters, but don't forget your content. Too many people obsess over creating backlinks instead of creating good content. You want to do both, obviously.
