I have adsense ads on my authority site. It is giving me a very low income. Debating in my mind to add amazon products on it.

Please advise me what is the best way to have these two together on one single site.

The best thing to do is add links to Amazon.com in the text as normal links (so, no widgets, don't even mention that this link goes to Amazon). So far, this has proven to be good.

If anyone else has different experience, I look forward to read them.

I agree, that's exactly what I do and works well for me also.

Yes, add amazon links, just remember that google doesn't like adwords before your content even tho many do that. Put adsense at the bottom and sidebar and preferably below the fold. The best way to get clicks is to put it in the middle of your content as a text link. You can do 1-2 clickable image ads but no more than a total of 10 outbound links on a page.

On my site I combine AdSense with Amazon links in the text - i.e normal links, as Jacob Sterbank suggests. On the page with the most Amazon links I have 31 of them (very nicely integrated in my excellent original content, if I do say so myself ). It doesn't seem to be causing a problem with my Google ranking since I have top placement within my niche.

However, I just heard a rumor that Google does not like Amazon affiliation and so now I'm wondering if I'm suffering consequences from all these Amazon links without knowing it - for instance, lower AdSense income, or perhaps the withholding of that extra-awesome top ranking where other pages of my site are shown (not sure what it's called). Do any of you think that might be the case?

I have two adsense units at the top and two below the fold and one at the end of text. Amazon links are mixed in the text and in the sidebar.
Everything work very well together. Adsense doesn't complain.

My best converting adsense unit is a LR at the top to the left (no matter what niche!).

Regarding Amazon links, I do tell them that these are amazon links or "click image to go to amazon.com". It works well for me. My content is quite pushy... it's not just review type content.
