Ok, so I am wondering what is the best way to target a keyword in your domain?

What do you think is better, or are these the same in Google's eyes?

keyword.com
keyword.com/keyword
mysite.com/keyword
keyword.mysite.com
keyword.mysite.com/keyword

I have also read that Google is lowering its weight on keywords in domains. What do you think?
#domains #keyword #sef #seo

mysite.com/keyword this one would do better. keyword.com/keyword looks redundant.

Even I think that this is a good option. It looks genuine and Google won't find anything suspicious about it.

You're giving examples of different kinds of pages. It's an apples-to-oranges comparison.

    keyword.com - for home page

    keyword.com/keyword - for article page
    mysite.com/keyword - for article page

    keyword.mysite.com - for sub-domain
    keyword.mysite.com/keyword - for a page on your sub-domain

The only ones we can compare are #2 and #3. And the answer is it doesn't matter much if at all.

      So when comparing

      keyword.com and
      mysite.com/keyword/

If both of these sites had the exact same on site and off site SEO neither one of them would have the upper hand? I am just wondering then, why do many marketers purchase thousands of sites instead of just one with thousands of pages?

Your query is not more clear what you want to know ?

Marketers purchase 100s of domains to get visitors and to reach easily to users and they are easy to manage tooo.

        keywords.com --- domains
        keywords.com/keywords sub domain ?

making sub domains of single domains is easy to manage but not Good in point of SEO if you target multiple country by single domain.

But i would like to ask why keywords in domains? Try to make domains for user only not for search engine because both is for users.

You can do keyword.com or mysite.com/keyword. Using keyword.mysite.com
keyword.mysite.com/keyword and keyword.com/keyword would make your website keyword-stuffed.

Though, we have 2 situations: keyword.com or websitename.com where websitename is not the keyword.

In first case, keyword.com/keyword is redundant not only because you can expect a kick because of over-optimization but also because it's not a user friendly URL.

In second case, I would go for websitename.com/keyword.

First case you own an EMD ( and you should be careful not to push it too hard and get banned)
Second case you have a normal website which needs pages pointing well-researched keywords in order to target many types of possible visitors.

    mysite.com/keyword is what I would recommend. Brand/keywords
