Click here? See deal? More info? Which text works best to refer visitors?

Do you have a preferred text link when you try to send your visitors on to the merchant site? I've tried everything from see deal, more info to order now. At the moment I'm using 'order now' but it seems to have the worst click through rate from any of the words I have tried on the button. What works well for you. It would really help me if I got a few opinions. Thanks in advance.

It really depends on the product. I've always liked something similar to:

"How can I get my hands on _______?"
"Here's how you too can have access to this _____"
    "Start _______ now!"
"For easy acesss to _____ click here now!"
"Don't delay! Click here to get ____ now!"

In other words, just embellish a click here statement.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

Sorry Paul I was thinking more in line with multiple products on the same page with a standard button. Maybe the button is too small? You've probably seen the site before when you helped me on a previous thread.

Although what you do say will help me when I eventually have a look at the product review sites I made but haven't worked on in a while.

This thread subject reminds of my old forum thread (haven't tried this yet), might help?

Got to say I really like the idea of that. Been trying to find a way of getting people to click through without putting people off by saying "just click the f*****g button!". It's kind of a subtle distraction on a very distracting page. I'll definitely try to come up with something along those lines.

I think a single animated gif link would boost CTR, which could boost sales once the traffic has landed on the sales page.

IMO the important part is that nothing else on the page is moving so the traffic is drawn to the animated gif/link (preferably above the fold), If anything I think it would increase CTR out of curiosity.

I was going to test this on CB, then ended up dumping CB.

Hey Yukon. I've took your advice and created my first ever animated gif. It's not great and I will replace it with something a bit better once I get time.

I do have some scrolling banners at the top which I'm thinking of removing anyway.

As for the choice of words to put in the button I've decided to simply try 'More'. I've thought about it and it could mean any of the following:

More info from the same site about the product?
More info on the merchant site about the product?
        or even..
        More products similar to this?

That may also get the visitor curious as to what it actually is. Again I wanted to thank you for the idea and if your interested I'll report back to let you know if it does improve the click through rate.

Split-testing is the key to determine which call to action gets the best click through rate. Have you tried phrases like "Add to Cart", or "Get Free Info"?
