I have seen people claiming on this forum that they are earning adsense income of +USD 100 a day.

I am earning adsense income of 30-40 cents a day from one site having 400 visitors a day (125 organic).

Even to reach ten USD a day of adsense income seems to me a daunting task.

it depends on your niche and/or ad placement,

I have some websites that has thousands of views a day but earns relatively low then I also have some websites that has 1-3 views a day (sometimes none, and I honestly still don't know how or why they are even ranking) that earns much much more.

And also, probably these guys are either running very high visitors count websites (big websites) or these numbers have been accumulated from a number of different websites.

And most likely, 90% of these people are just lying about the actual numbers..

The niche makes a huge difference for the CPC. Your not going to get $3 CPC on a recipe site, but a $3 CPC on a higher education site/niche isn't uncommon.

Then you have a bunch of on-page variables to increase CTR.

Also, when earnings $100 per day it requires thousands of visitors per day, not hundreds. Only in very rare cases you can get away with having less traffic and still earn a lot with exceptionnally high CPM.
Otherwise, you can play with ad placement and aim for a minimum of $5 CPM and then it's all a matter of having more traffic.
The good thing about adsense compared to affiliate is that the traffic doesn't need to be targeted to people in buying mode. But that's it.

Once a niche is decided and site is running, how I can aim for higher CPC. I fail to understand this.

Look up some of the highest grossing adsense keywords on Google. Then pick a specific niche. then go to Google keyword tool and pick Keywords. But it also depends on how you are driving your traffic. theres a big difference in seo traffic then ppc traffic

Once your niche is decided then your only leverage is with ad placement and increasing your CTR.
Less options to click, better CTR.
    More visible ads, better CTR.

Also to increase a little the CPC, to optimize it, you can stick to most popular ad formats, since the competition between images and text ads will be greater than ad size where only text ads are competing. So stick to 728x90 and 300x250 ad sizes. Also 160x600 if you really can't live without a third ad size.

To be optimistic I'll also add that within a niche you can use the adword keyword tool to identify the keywords most bidded on by advertizers, and then produce more content pages about those keywords..

I have a site with about 3-4k visitors per day. But the Ctr is lower than the average 1 % and the keywords are quite cheap(my first site) so I only get 3-4 dollars per day for this site.

My first month Adsense income was only 0.60 when i started so dun be depressed.
Keep on doing what is right. You might also want to look at your ads placement and experiment to see which arrangement gives the best Ctr

I would disagree with this. With a longer keyword, you can hit two different niches that will give you a high CPC.

      For example...

If I had a site about dogs. And (I don't know what the CPC is) the CPC is very low, I could start targeting something along the lines of "dog insurance".

Back to the OP, maybe your niche is more suited to a different kind of monetizing method.

Exactly James, optimizing of ads can play a great role. I am not of fond of 5 pages sites made for adsense, but sometimes they use proven techniques. For example, you need to place ads in the right places. It's better when a site has a perfect design for pushing a reader to click on one of the ads. Ads are placed where the main attention of visitors is focused. Text is small printed and pale and all readers’ attention is focused on advertising links, etc.
Sometimes, after making only some changes and testing you can see a drastic difference in conversions.

Easier than what? Why have 50 sites earning $2/day when it's going to cost about $500/year in domain fees plus all the hassle of maintaining them?

Eaiser is to achieve earnings of 1-2 $ daily per site on 50 sites, then achieve 100 $ per day on one site. For a 100 $ a day per site, if your average CPC is 0.50 $, and your CTR is 2 %, you will need 10000 visits per day. You may need a years to reach that amount of visits. And if your CTR is 1 % (this is considering normal and average CTR) you will then need 20000 visitors per day for the same amount of money.

    Yeah I do...

    It's easy.

    But complicated.

If you are in the right niche then you CAN expect to make some money.

However, make sure that this niche is actually "your" niche. Other ways... people will come and they will kill you (your site!). That's pretty simple.

    Be expert in your niche...

Lol, been there, done that when I first started out years ago. The recipe niche is horrible for money, the competition is also extremely brutal (considering the payback). The big recipe sites are very serious about the niche. IMO, just an all around bad niche for something like Adsense.

I had a small site with Adsense on it in the education niche. SEO was driving the traffic and the cpc for one kwd was like a $1.20. I was able to make btw $5-$10 a day. Ad placement does matter. Your source of traffic matters as well. If I was driving traffic with PPC I definitely would be picking keywords that have a cpc $10 or higher. You get anywhere from 0.01 - 68% of the adwords cpc when someone clicks on your adsense ad. You definitely can make a killing with Adsense, it just depends on certain factors and if you take advantage of those factors. Don't let anyone fool you to believe that you can't or you need many adsense sites to make great income.

That's the authority sites do the trick. I don't all authority sites could achieve this income amount but most are over.

I can't say that small niche sites won't make that, but it's rare to reach that amount of $100/day. I used to have 4 small niche sites with just 5-10 article; those site could earn between $2 - $8 per day. Yet, after google zoo animals update, all sites got slap from page 1, 2, and 3 to somewhere at page 9, 30, and N/A.

Alternatively, I have only one authority site which contains about 500+ articles, and each articles targeting different keywords and quality for human visitors and Search Engine. Therefore, many visitors come from different keywords and different in Adsense earning. As I see, the long tail keywords are making more Click that the general terms. I could generate at least $25/day with the site.

But, who know after reaching $5K/month, I got slap by Google again by banning my account from Adsense.

You need high paying keywords and SEO in order to make that amount and also 7000~8000 visitors, use heatmap theme or ctrtheme.

Maybe you can also include inline link adds these won't interfere with the adsense adds; this could double your income.
