Hi
I translated my website into German and all the German got indexed, which I checked in a site:seach and have the correct meta descriptions

But when search the relevant keywords google tells me that the site is 'not found'. (yes, my google searches include German pages)

Why could that be? It's been 2 weeks since the pages were indexed and usually pages that are indexed can be found in the searches within hours.

Anybody has any ideas what is happening?

Google likes to associate a website with a geographical area. In Webmaster Tools you can select which area. Have to tried associating your site with Germany?

How do you know your pages aren't in the search results for the German keywords? Are you going through the first 100 search results for each keyword?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I just a a quick look at the google info and they write:

The tool handles geographic data, not language data. If you're targeting users in different locations—for example, if you have a site in French that you want users in France, Canada, and Mali to read—we don't recommend that you use this tool to set France as a geographic target

So, what I should do is to set geographical target as unlisted (it was set to United States).

Thanks for putting me on the right path

About finding the keywords. I just take a combination of unusual keywords in quotation marks or a chunk of my meta description. It should throw up my page on place number one or two. But it does not - it says 'not found'.

Yes, I set my blog to unlisted too, as I want international traffic.

As for Google not returning your site in the search results when you know it's indexed the pages, that's odd.

        Perhaps post the details here...

so I have put my geographical area but still all the keywords come back as 'not found'. The pages are definitely indexed.

Anybody has any ideas? Your answers would be much appreciated.
