You want a piece of software that checks and keeps a record of the keyword position over time? There is a software called CuteRank that does that. runs on macs and costs $60 one time fee.

Not sure why you would have a requirement for an O/S when web based ones run on any platform. Have you checked out: WhatsMySERP.com? It allows you to check, track, and graphs the top 300 google results for up to 250 keywords across 10 domains...all free.

I use Rank Tracker for my sites and it works very nice. I like the backend of the program where you can set up graphs and goals. This way you can keep track of your progress if you're doing SEO or hired someone to do your SEO for you.

Accuranktracker (think that's the right name) seems pretty good.
I have a test run on the beta version and was quite impressed. $27 I think it sells for, so quite a good deal.

SEO Sheer is only for 2 moths free after it you need to pay for using it. WhatsmybSERP, I've used it and didn't get any accurate results. As far as concern CuteRank, I am using it from two years and found it useful for tacking keyword ranking. You can use it.
