I'd just rewrite your article enough to make it different. You wrote it the first time so must be familiar with the subject matter.

It will likely count as duplicate content if you do nothing at all to it.

Well how long does that content was posted from hubpage? as long as it is not yet crawled by google then that would be fine. just remember to remove every foot print of that content on hubpage. but if google has already crawled over it then that would already a duplicate once you post it on WP.

I strongly recommend you create new content for the wordpress and interlink both. well it give you an extra boost of BL.

It's been a year or more.

What about simply rewording the entire article from Hubpages and then posting it onto wordpress? At the same time I can keep the article on Hubpages. How's that? Should I simply insert my wordpress site URL onto the Hubpages blog?

If you are going to rewrite it I cannot see why you would want to delete it on Hubpages.

Why not rewrite it extensively and leave the Hubpages there. Hubpages are looked on favorably by Google and as this is a feeder site link it back to your blog.

I deleted an article off my old website and placed the exact article on a new website and it ranked slightly better. Wait until it gets de-indexed before making the change and make sure no one else already copied the content.

Do a hyperlink. Where there is a relevant keyword or keywords link it at that spot. If I remember correctly you are allowed 2 links in Hubpages but just check their terms of service to find that out.

No, It would consider as duplicate content, and Google definitely penalize your wordpress blog ! At the end of the day you don't have evidence to show them that the other one is also my blog and i wrote that article!!

It can't be duplicate if it appears in only one location (we'll not unless you want to get into the bizarre realm of quantum physics).

Just post it at the new URL and leave a link from the old Hubpages URL pointing to the new one.

You might have to fill the Hubpage URL with some content to meet their minimum requirements.

Since it was posted on hubpages a year ago, it's very likely to have already been indexed. Just spend some time rewriting it before posting on your own site.

There is no need to delete the one at hubpages. Use one of the keywords inside the article to hyperlink to your site. It still serves as a good backlink.

Tons of wrong information floating on this page! There are no duplicate content penalty at all. You can repost articles on different websites after posting them on your site. We call this process "Article Syndication". As a webmaster you have enough right to repost articles or any sort of contents on other sites for traffic or for other purpose.

The only problem exact articles are hard to index. But if you post the article on just few websites then this is not gonna be big problem. I would no hesitate to post exact article on 5 different websites. Pretty sure google will index the articles after little or no extra efforts. But its not going to be the same case for 100 article blast certainly.

Google wouldnt care even if you post the article to wordpress and 10 other blog platforms without deleting it from hubpages. as somebody already talked about article syndication, i'm going to save you some time here. so the answer is NO, google is not going to penalize your site just becoz you're a writer and want to publish your article in more than one blog platform.

FYI duplicate content penalty is a myth. however your rankings might drop if you have two pages of same content within a single website. not because of duplicate content penalty tho. there's a whole different story about that.

This is not the case. Hossain and Ben already explained and I red many posts on WF and on other blogs that Duplicate content is just a Myth! No need to be worried.

I would definitely say that it would be treated as duplicated content. You can try to use it on your site and link to that article from your hubpage, saying - here is the original article, but I do not think it will help much.

Rewording / rewriting is a good option. If you don't want to use this option and want to move exactly the same article on your WordPress blog from Hub Pages blog, I advise you convert your old blog post into quote with placing reference on new blog URL at the end of blog post. This at least won't be treated as spam but as a referring content.

It would be considered duplicate as it is already indexed, it may be that others are linking to the url, the content may also be posted from hubpages to other sites, social sites.. so it is not good idea to delete that, you have to write fresh article to get benefit.
